Medium: Charcoal on White Paper

One of the final projects we had in Life Drawing one was a mirror self-portrait. Done in charcoal, the goal was to draw from life, 3 portraits on 3 different occasions. I loved the progression that happened out of the blue with this one. The first two portraits were in ¾ pose. They ended up coming out in a less-than-desirable way, but with each project, the overall outcome improved. Ending in the forward-facing portrait. I really like the way it came out, from the shading to the face shape. If you look closely enough, I drew in beard and mustache hair, as well as the frills at the tips of the hair.
