The final project in Figure Modeling I. The surreal sculpture project’s goal was to take something anatomical and make it somehow surreal. Prior to this project we was a project in which we sculpted our own hand and I didn’t feel very good about my finished project. So I decided that I wanted to make my surreal project about a hand as a sort of redemption. I used my own hand as reference and sculpted it at about 3x lifesize, the surreal element was an octopus arm that ends up coiling around it and breaking one of its fingers. I was happy with how it came out, the texture of the hand and proportions were very satisfactory.
